An unbelievably unique hotel experience!
The Giraffe Manor, owned by The Safari Collection and located near Nairobi, Kenya, is an exclusive boutique hotel that is surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest. This hotel is so unique for the craziest reason... as its name implies, you'll be visited by its herd of resident Rothschild's giraffe who may visit in the morning and evening, and can even poke their long necks into the windows in hopes of getting a tasty snack from you before returning to the forest. It sounds unbelievable, but when I saw the photos, I knew it was perfect for my 'I will travel there' collection!
The Giraffe Manor is one of Nairobi's most iconic buildings, even dating back to the 30's when European visitors would flock to East Africa to visit these safaris. I can see why, the beautiful interior, garden greens and sunny terraces make it feel like it's something out of a movie.
Some of the top things I would love to do while visiting for a night or two include: sharing a breakfast with a giraffe during my stay, taking a guided walk into the sanctuary or walking across the lawn to the Afew Giraffe Centre, discover the history of European settlers at the Karen Blixen and Nairobi Museums, and enjoy some afternoon tea on the terrace as the sun sets behind the hills.
The hotel itself even offers free Wi-Fi and parking, laundry service, concierge, airport transportation, and other 5 star accommodation amenities.
