Cuba's first 5 star hotel! Isn't it beautiful?
The winter has been long and arduous in Canada, seemingly never ending. It's the middle of April and yet we are still plagued by cold temperatures and bouts of snow. I would give anything to take a nice vacation to someplace warm and cozy, like this beautiful 5 star hotel in Cuba! The Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana is located in Old Havana, and is housed in a breathtaking 100-year old European-style shopping arcade. I love the architecture and all the beautiful features of the hotel!
Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana features 246 guest rooms of varying prices and luxury, but no matter which room you get, you'll be able to gaze upon the historic city. In some cases, you may even have a balcony to further overlook the city. Imagine retreating to your room after a long and exciting day, to listen to the waves crashing in the sea, laying in a luxury bed. Though the hotel offers amenities such as Wi-Fi and high speed internet access, I can't imagine you'd want to visit such a place only to waste time inside on a digital device! Unless of course you're a business person, then I suppose you have little choice.
There is a rooftop hub for activities, a pool, and a restaurant with expansive views of the Great Theater of Havana and the Capitol. Within the hotel, there are three bars, three restaurants, a top-floor gym, and a nearly 10,000 sq. ft. spa. I bet a spa day there would be absolutely heavenly! I can imagine it now.. A relaxing day of massages, sauna rooms, and more.. just ironing out all the winter grunge my body has been worn down by over the months.
Although there are many attractions within the hotel, I would definitely love to go to the tobacco lounge, to try both the cigars and rum in which Cuba is renowned for!
