I've been a long-time fan of upright, sporty riding and a big brutish V-twin, which is why the new 2020 Indian FTR Rally Motorcycle from Indian Motorcycle has caught my eye. I have been keeping an eye on the market for a new comfortable, quick, and modern flat-track motorcycle for exciting rides.
The 2020 Indian FTR Rally Motorcycle is based on the top-spec model in early 2019, featuring a fancy touch screen, traction control, adjustable suspension, and ride control modules for an analog speedometer.
I really dig the urban bomber kind of look with the blacked-out frame, brown leather seat, Titanium Smoke matte-grey tank cover and flyscreen headlight fairing. The 2-inch taller Pro Taper handlebar set is a much appreciated FTR change from an ergonomic standpoint.
This beast has a 123 horsepower, 87 lb-ft engine, Bremo brakes, ProTaper handlebars, and a gear drive wet clutch transmission/primary drive.
I'd love to own a 2020 Indian FTR Rally Motorcycle in the future for great riding sessions. I would be more hesitant to ride more technical off-road sections, but hard-packed dirt and roads would be excellent.

- Stylish looks
- Great motor and chassis
- Very comfortable
- Great price point for what you get
- No heated grips for cold rides
- Cold starts can be a problem
- Fuel economy and range can be poor
I think Indian Motorcycles turned its flat tracker bike into an urban scrambler and managed to keep everything great intact in the process. This bike sounds like it would be not only comfortable and quick but also able to handle corners much better than the weight may suggest.
