A rugged yet soft leather band for the Apple Watch!
The Lowry Leather Cuff for Apple Watch by Pad & Quill is a unique approach to a wrist band for the Apple Watch. I don't think this watch band is very attractive, I personally think the raw organic leather look is not a compliment to the sleek Apple Watch. It boasts being more "masculine", however, from what I can see Pad & Quill tries to achieve this by creating a thicker, more rough leather cuff. Thicker does not mean more masculine..
Pas & Quill does use high quality materials, the leather is soft despite looking rough. However, as someone with a smaller wrist, the circumference for the Lowry Leather Cuff for Apple Watch is awkward. It's definitely suited more for someone with a bigger wrist.
For the colors, I definitely liked the darker ones rather than the lighter leather finish.The band itself has a cutout on the back of the Cuff to prevent obstruction of the heart rate sensor for the Apple Watch. I suppose if this was covered, the leather cuff would be pretty useless.
Personally, I feel like the Lowry Cuff stands out too much, and is rather cumbersome as a companion to the Apple Watch. I definitely wouldn't recommend it over competitors. - Easy to take on and off from Apple Watch casing.
- Doesn't obstruct Apple Watch sensors.
Cons:
- Oversized form factor not for everyone.
- Thick clasping mechanism.
- Inconvenient daily wear.
- Peculiar sizing.
Bottom Line:
Unfortuantely, I wouldn't recommend this as an alternative over other wrist bands. It's pricey and very awkward.
