A Jewel In The Ionian Sea

Zakynthos has a rich history dating, with the island first being mentioned in Homer's Illiad and Odyssey.

I once had the opportunity to visit Capri in Italy, and I have to tell you, these islands in the Mediterranean Sea are breathtaking.

Zakynthos suffered from a terrible series of earthquakes in 1953, where nearly every single building on the island, save three, were destroyed. Consequently all the current buildings are built with minimizing the damage of future earthquakes in mind.
