Bowler and Land Rover have developed a road-going rally version of their Range Rover Sport-based SUV. Building on the brand's strong heritage, the EXR S is the road-going companion to the Bowler EXR, the monster off-road race vehicle designed for such grueling days-long events as the Dakar Rally. The Bowler EXR S has generated huge interest because of long desire over the past years for a street-legal version of their competition cars.
The EXR S shares the EXR's hydroformed base chassis (with the engine moved 300mm rearward) and various switchgear, light clusters and grilles, all from the Range Rover Sport. The EXR S also shares the same strong and lightweight composite body panels with its competition-bred stablemate the Bowler Nemesis EXR.
The new street-legal EXR S features the Range Rover Sport's sexier supercharged 5.0-liter V8 coupled with a six-speed ZF automatic. Rated at 550 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque, the EXR S rockets to 60 in 4.2 seconds and has top speed governed to 155 mph.
The EXR S boasts the six-speed ZF automatic transmission and E-diff from the Range Rover Sport 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged.
