Tsunami waves reach the skies

This photograph was taken in December 2011 at Birmingham, Alabama. It is said this unusual phenomenon is an great example of Kelvin-Helmholtz waves, when a fast cloud layer moves over a slower layer and drags the top along creating a curled shape.
