A classic Southern recipe, perfect for weeknight dinners no matter the season!

I have been looking for a great new pork recipe for weeknight meals. I am very thankful to have found the Smothered Pork Chops recipe on Delish as it checks off all the boxes on the things I was looking for!

This pork chop recipe is not only delicious but it's also very easy to make! I like that this dish could be made in the oven or the pan and is easily modifiable. Whole milk can be substituted for the heavy cream, other vegetables can be added to the gravy, and it can even be made gluten free!

The following ingredients were used:

- 4 thick, bone-in pork chops
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground pepper
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 c. plus 3 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil, divided
- 2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 c. low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 c. heavy cream
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
